Why?

Between 10% and 20% of women develop mental health problems during pregnancy or within a year of giving birth (referred to as the ‘perinatal period’) and the evidence shows a significant decline in maternal mental health during the pandemic.

The pandemic has posed mental health challenges for women during pregnancy and early motherhood and the impact has been unequal. Perinatal mental health services had worrying gaps even before the crisis, informal support has been detrimentally impacted and there has been an increased demand for voluntary and community services, who themselves have been impacted.

The Honor Oak Wellness Rooms strives to be an advocate of wellness and source of support to everyone in South East London, and so we are lending our support to raising awareness of this issue, and facilitating access to these life-saving services by fundraising for local mental health organisations.

Who?

All funds raised will be given to Lewisham-based Bromley Lewisham & Greenwich Mind, an established mental health organisation with resources dedicated to supporting maternal mental health through their Mindful Mums support groups.
