In this workshop we will break down and explain all things Vinyasa!

Vinyasa is the Sanskrit for “placing in a special way” and can be also translated as "moving with grace". It is most often described as a flowing class that links movement with breath, and most Vinyasa classes utilise the phrase of movements known as the Sun Salutation as a base on which to build the rest of the sequence.

In this session we will study and deconstruct the most common transitions and look at different ways to modify these transitions depending on our individual anatomy and level of fitness, regressing and progressing accordingly. We will work on the breath, learning specific techniques that will help us synchronise breath and movement, and feel the benefits of this moving meditation practice.

This workshop is for anyone that has taken a beginner’s course or classes and wants to have the clarity and confidence to start a vinyasa class. Also open to anyone that wants tips and tools to specifically work on their vinyasa transitions.
